Spring into Shape with your Dog – Visit one of many Local Dog Parks.
Did you know there are more than a dozen dog parks in the Overland Park, KS area? It’s welcome news to many local dog owners looking for a fun and inexpensive way to spend more time with their furry best friends. And there’s no better time than now to take advantage of the wonderful Spring weather and partner with your dog to get some great exercise.

Dog parks allow you to tag team with your dog, get outside, exercise and socialize. Dogs want to be outside — exploring, smelling and socializing with other dogs and people. Many dog parks are completely fenced in, and most even provide bags for cleaning up dog waste. Watch for the park rules usually posted near the entrance. Remember to practice some basis dog park etiquette.
Dog Park Etiquette
1. Make sure to always clean up after your dog’s mess; use a poop scooper or bags to pick up the mess.
2. Bring fresh water for your dog and a leash.
3. Always keep an eye on your dog, and don’t let your pet wander too far.
4. Minimize barking if the dog park is near a residential area.
5. Don’t bring aggressive dogs for everyone’s protection.
A well exercised dog is a healthier and better behaved dog. Your dog will thank you with open paws following a romp in the park. So get moving and pay a visit to one of these local dog parks today.
